    Nearly seven out of 10 companies (69.39%) said they translate websites and printed materials to meet legal and regulatory requirements.
  4. Expand market share.
    Reaching more customers in the markets where they already have a presence drove more than half of respondents (57.14%) to translate content.
  5. Grow revenue.
    More than half of the respondents (57.14%) said that they translate information in order to increase turnover in global markets.

According to a recent survey by Common Sense Advisory, among the 2,430 web consumers in eight countries:

  • 72.1% of consumers spend most or all of their time on websites in their own language.
  • 72.4% of consumers said they would be more likely to buy a product with information in their own language.
  • 56.2% of consumers said that the ability to obtain information in their own language is more important than price.

Conclusion: more than half of the consumers are willing to pay more if you are willing to give them information in their own languages (e.g., translation).

A survey of Fortune 500 companies by Common Sense Advisory found that in 2011, companies that increased their translation budgets were 1.5 times more likely to experience an increase in total revenue.
