When a Good Reputation Pays Off
A localization company in India reached out to us for mobile app testing in China. They had just won a large-scale testing project from TED Talk, ensuring their mobile application functioned smoothly across multiple languages, including Chinese.
However, they faced a challenge—they lacked tester resources in China for Chinese-language testing.
Since we had previously helped them with Chinese translation and proofreading projects, they already had a positive impression of our work. As a result, we became their first-choice provider, even while the project was still under negotiation.

Having worked in IT/Telecom-related companies in Shanghai for five years, I had strong connections with experienced Chinese testers. Many of them have been specializing in mobile app testing for over 10 years, making them the perfect fit for the project.

Defining the Project Scope
The initial request was extensive. The client required:

The testing process included:

Total Test Cases Calculation:
25 test cases × 5 devices × 2 environments (virtual & real) × 2 network types (Wi-Fi & cellular)
= 20,000 test cases
Additionally, the client requested screen recordings of all problematic cases.
Optimizing Cost and Time
We estimated that completing the full project would take 10 to 12 working days. However, the client lacked the time and budget for such an extensive workload.
To accommodate their constraints, they negotiated with their client and reduced the work scope. Instead of full testing, we focused on partial testing with only three devices.
✅ With this streamlined scope, we successfully completed the project in just 20 hours at a total cost of $550.
